Just noticed that prices near where I live (South Devon) have finally crept above 91p a litre for diesel, even at supermarket stations. I'm accustomed to our prices being roughly 3p/litre cheaper than elsewhere in the country.
What price are you paying for petrol / diesel?
|
Shell diesel in Cardiff last weekend - 92.9p a litre. In Leeds it's currently 88.9p.
|
Paid 90.9 for diesel in Chesterfield yesterday.
Thought the price was due to come down in the summer?

I wasna fu but just had plenty.

It's going to get worse - the GBP is plummeting against the USD at the same time as the barrel price for oil continues to climb.
Long hidden news on the UK economy is leaking out and will take the exchange rate down further.
My guess is Sept/Oct for the £1 per litre unleaded. Hope I'm wrong.

I hope so too - I already pay £10 more per tank than I did two years ago. I've tried filling up a bit at a time to soften the pain, but it doesn't really work. ;-)

Heard on the business news that the UK can expect a big hike over the next few years due to the UK refineries not being up to spec. - needs more processing compared with petrol, causing a shortage compared with europe - (higher diesel consumption)
Which is not good news for us UK diesel users

Needed to fill up my new Golf, with FSI engine, today and so went to my local Shell garage for a full tank of Optimax, only to find that it was 94p/litre. I nearly fainted on the spot but could not be bothered to drive away and so filled the tank there and then.
Later in the day I drove by a Shell garage in the area which I was visiting anyway (Sevenoaks) to find that it was at least 6p/litre cheaper....Agggggggggggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Still 97.9 for petrol, 99.9 for diesel up here (Highlands)
|
In the Belfast/Newtownabbey area, it's around 88.9 for u/l and 92.9 for diesel.
|
Earlier today i paid 87.9 for diesel @ Shell on Cobridge Road Stoke on Trent. Think U/L was about 3p a litre cheaper.
This place is consistantly about 2p a litre cheaper than local supermarkets.
