Dings and things! - oldgit
Came back from a run to the coast yesterday and therefore had parked my car in several car parks. However I found that someone had left a 'ding' in my nearside rear wheel arch about 2" above the flared bit and just behind the plastic arch protector.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what to do, apart from leaving it, that is. I'm a bit car proud to say the least and my car is only a few month old. Are these mobile dent and ding removal services any good and could someone recommend any firms operating in the South London area?

Commiserations - asked this question myself a few months back and the concensus was that these companies can do a very gopod job but they're mostly run as franchises and the one nearest you may/may not be good. Best to get a specific recommendation or check with local car dealers to see who they use.

Didn't bother getting mine done in the end on the basis that I'd probably have acquired another the very next day :(

Agreed - every dent I've ever found has stayed - unfortunately it is the price you pay for leaving your car anywhere other than on your drive / in your garage. I think now on my new Audi I may change my mind, but it would probably wait until resale time, when it may make a difference to the resale value.

Totally agree, it is a shame that you cannot park your car anywhere these ways without it acquiring a mark or ding. People just don't seem to care anymore. In my opinion to damage another persons property is a serious offence and should be taken very seriously and the victim compensated. Maybe the situation would be better if cars were not getting bigger and parking spaces smaller! As well as most of the general public having no pride with regards to looking after vehicles.

I will check with a mate.But after he had boot repaired by local (I think)repairer.. Did a real good job on a Toyota Avensis 02 reg..Car was in pristine condition untill it was clobered. by what we dont know. but it left a nasty dent.Has now gone and you cannot see any traces

Knowing that it is there on your pride and joy will be like a festering sore rearing its head everytime you valet it.

Shop round some of the repair shops, not the gin palaces, for their are some good little outfits out there.
