A friend of mine has a Y reg 3 door VW Polo, with a small leak into the boot. There is a small puddle in the boot under the carpet and between the spare wheel well and rear seat.
The car is Y reg as I've said, and it is the facelifted model. It has just 2 doors and the hatch. There is no sunroof, and for what it's worth (you never know) it's a 1.4 petrol automatic with aircon.
What might cause this? Any other leaky Polo experiences out there?
Thanks in advance

If the water is dirty, then it is something low down on the car which is cauing the leak - a missing grommet in the floor for example.
If the water is clean, then it is coming from above - the seal around the hatch, and the seal around the light unit are obvious places to check.

Not come across this before on a Polo. Leaks via the door membranes - oh yes, but not the boot.

Could be from the pipe-work leading to the rear wash/wipe?
or
There should be an opening in the spare wheel well that has a plastic grommet covering it, check to see if this is missing.
