Hi all,
The weather is looking good finally after a week of horrible weather.
Why does it always rain on weekends and bank holidays?
Well anyway heres my question to you all
Im thinking of purchasing an Audi A6 2.5tdi Quattro 140bhp 6 speed. It is a 1997 P reg, saloon,
The asking price is £4000 froma private seller. Its got 131000 miles with full Audi service history. Is this asking price reasonable? (the car does have full leather, climate control, air con, alloys etc)
Also what sort of mileages can these cars realistically run to?
What do I need to watch out on this car
Also never had an AUdi Quattro before so what do i need to watch/listen out for?
Does the quattro system need regular servicing or anything of the like?
ALso whats "real life" fuel consuption like.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all.

My sister has the 2.5tdi Allroad, probably a little less aerodynamic than the Quattro but she has to plan her journeys around filling stations as the consumption's so high!
A friend who has the 2.7 petrol version does far better but I think this is due to his "eggshell between the foot and pedal" driving style.
Very nice cars though.

Sorry just noticed the word SALOON.

sounds expensive to me.
the 2.5 tdi is a solid engine, if a bit agricultural by todays standards. Suspension is weak point, susp arms go, plus iirc the quattros have sport suspension and getting replacement shocks/springs is expensive, cheaper to get a replacement kit from koni/bilstein or similar.
I would always get the estate version, more versatile and holds value better.

Is this for you or your friend?

Good question Bobby!

Espada III - well if you have a family and need a Lamborghini, what else do you drive?

Ok this is getting silly.
audi80tdi - come up with a reasonable explanation of what is going on with the fleet of Audis that you and your friend own, or go away.
If you don't, I'll choose for you.
