Where in the UK are you?
Many cobblers now offer this service, I know one in Nottingham.
|
Some "Cobblers" can clone the chip in a "blue" key when they cut a spare.
I'm not sure what age your Punto is, but many need a "red" master key to enable the alarm/ecu to accept new "blue" keys with different chips.
See the Car-by-car Breakdown on this site.

orack, what is actually wrong?
Are you using the ECU from the old or new engine?
I presume you're using the keys from the old engine as they will fit the locks, so can't you use the old engine's ECU that matches them?
On Vauxhalls, you have to programme the new ECU with the info from the immobiliser control unit. Maybe Fiats are similar.

What is a J-plate Punto anyway? I didn't know they existed before early 94 (L).
