peugeot 406 leaking injectors 1999 model - peugeot ian
Hi all sorry not tech minded but advise would be great. Got a 1999 406 hdi 90bhp. It appears to be hestiant when accelerating slowly, keeping up with traffic so on. But no problems when foot put down. (pulls away fine). But I have recently notice that one of the injectors has diesel fuel in the wells around it. Cleaned the wells up and fuel came straight back. Took to garage told needed new injectors. expensive job. Is it possible it just needs new seals and would this fault cause the above problems Thanks for any help Ian.

I can't speak for Peugeots but Citroen issued a recall on their Xantia HDi models to check for tightness/leaks on the high pressure fuel unions around the engine.

It might be worth checking whether Peugeot ever did the same (same engine). Although it will be time expired it suggests that they anticipated leaks and the cure might be to have them tightened.

Cheers Ian, got told the same so rang peugeot and they said no recall. Dont quite understand why as same engine. Anyway thanks for help. Ian Maudsley
