Any Ideas what could cause this?
It has happened about once a year from new after twice failing in the first few months and the battery being replaced, but I've never been able to trace why. It's just done it again today. It can flatten overnight, but on checking lights etc. there is no reason for a drain that I can find. - Lights were all switched off for example.
What can fail intermittently or stick and draw current and then be OK for months. Could it be the door lock solenoids or sonething similar? Any other ideas? Anything obvious to check?

Has it got a boot or glove compartment light?

What type of driving do you do.Ie short runs/mixture of long short?.Find it strange it only happens once a year..On a more regular basis I could understand..Unless you have alternator fault..??

The car normally does journeys of 5-10 miles including some 70mph stretches so it gets reasonable runs in. It had done a 20 mile each way night journey just before the last ovenight flattening so the battery should have been well charged. If the boot light is on it can be seen faintly from inside the car at night so I dont think its that and theres no light in the glove compartment. Can't leave the lights on when parked unless its deliberate - That's why im so stumped. Something sticks and draws current - could be the radiator fan I suppose or a very intermittent alternator fault.
