Hi
Can anyone help with a wee problem I have with my 1996 Suzuki Swift 1300 gls.I recently changed the oil and filter and after that a "check engine" light came in the dash.I checked the usual oil, water, fan belt etc no problem.Car runs fine and i am told it might be a blown fuse, can anyone confirm this and any idea which fuse it is.Any help much appreciated.

Did you disturb any wiring or unplug any electrical items during the service?

Hi
Thanks for the reply,I was thinking along these lines myself.
I did,nt disconnect anything electrical, but I do remember my hand hanging up on a wire located close to the filter at the front of the engine.I have since checked this and it is still connected okay and it does,nt look like the kind of wire that houses a fuse, being close to the filter I imagine it is low oil level sensor or something that would warn you to check the engine.
Maybe the wire is fractured inside,I will have a close look in daylight.

could be just coincidence that you have blown a fuse at the same time ?
i had one of these (gti though) and it was garaged minus all its fuses when put away long term as an extra anti theft measure
putting fuses back in wrong order (was my father not me honest) causes this light to come on i can confirm, easily sorted by putting correct fuses in the right holes - so it must be measuring resistance in the circuits?
other than that i guess its a dealer job to find out why ?

Thanks John,I will go through the fuses systematically and try
not to get them mixed up.
