I seem to recall that it was illegal to display advertising alongside motorways. I know that some people get 'round this by using lorries parked in fields, but yesterday whilst travelling on the M4 I noticed two large wooden hoardings, supported by hay bales, just before junction 18.
Have backroomers noticed any more of these?

Happy Christmas to you all!

On the M8 just before Junction 6, there is a large church visible from the motorway. For some time now it has been the subject of fundraising to save it.

Passed yesterday and it has a banner/poster attached to the full length of the church advertising a local radio station.
I just hope it is particularly secure cos it is rather exposed and if a good wind got up ....

There have been a few wooden signs put up in fields along the west sie of the M3 over the last year or so, and there's now a house on the east side with the URL of a website build into its roof with black tiles.

Our expressways' perimeters are festooned with monstrous hoardings advertising everything from banks to beer, messages from God and our lady President (who frequently confuses herself with same) and potato chips to adult diapers.

During our frequent typhoons in the monsoon season the inevitable happens, often with interesting results.
