Hi, Have a problem with my Audi A3 1.9 tdi se 2000. A couple of times this week the spedo/rev counter and other dash instruments have not been working but after about 10 mins driving they have come on. Thursday driving to work they did not come on at all and when I came to go home car would not start(tries for a second then stops). All other electrics lights, climate control etc are all ok. Greenflag could not find the fault and towed me home.

If it tries for a second then stops it is an immobiliser problem, try another key. Another possibility is the main relay which cauld also be causing the other probs on the dash?

If out of 3 year warranty, I would take her in to a local Bosch outlet. I had similar problems with my Audi. No way could work out what was. Afraid car conk out on motorway, which use a lot. As soon as onto their diagnostic machine, problem emerged and cured. £60 but very much worth it.

Its been in with my local garage, which is a bosch outlet since Thursday night.. They are still finding the fault, "it's not something straightforward" they say. Would an Audi main dealer be a better bet??

Got car back Wednesday night, diagnostic did not come up with much, they reset the computer and all was ok. This morning starts ok but still no speedo, rev counter etc. Any further ideas?
