After all the carry on I'm having with the pug my runabout citreon ax is now having issues. Its only a little 1 litre thing, 1995 ish. Anyway it keeps randomly stuttering as though not firing correctly. It was killing batteries when I first got it but I remedied that by fastening the alternator on properly and tightening a wire on it. Obviously not been correctly fitted. Now it seems to misfire occasionally, mainly in damp weather and after the engine is warm. I would have to repair this on the side of a very busy road where buses hurtle past so would like to know in advance the most likely causes so I can minimise the time I spend risking my life out there. Quite a few cars have been shunted from behind whilst parked out there.

HT leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs?

Wouldn't a carpark, such as the local supermarkets, or even your local Halfords one be safer?

carpark would be safer but sods law says I forget the tool I require. Its ok, I'll try and park the AX behind another car to minimse the risk of being hit.
My first thought was sparks but someone said its more likely a sensor as the others all tend to be 'cold' problems.
