Three Renaults have passed through my hands over the years,the latest a Clio,nice little car,but in common with it's stable mates the wipers make a racket! I've tried some vaseline (it smears,can't see a thing :) ),any ideas back roomers?

I assume you mean the blades squeal? Most blades don't last much beyond 12 months with normal usage before they start squealing, so I'd start by replacing the blades. Don't buy genuine Renault. Vauxhall charge about £7 for a pair of genuine blades for a Cavalier. A Renault dealer wanted £26 a pair back in the summer for my Megane!

My advice is completely at odds with Victorbox. You want blades that dont squeel or judder? You buy genuine renault complete blades assemblies. On the later clios they are different sizes left and right,

Sorry, my bit about the genuine Renault blades was a bit tongue in cheek. I always buy genuine Vauxhall blades (the whole assembly not just the rubber) simply because they are good and are cheaper than Halfords etc where you get 6 different arm fittings none of which look like the OEM version. I was shocked by the price of genuine (Valeo?) blades from Renault - good job the company was paying not me. Anyone spreading Vaseline on their blades might be shocked by the price as well.

Bosch blades are the best in my opinion..very quiet untill point they need replacing/dont clear screen ..Never use anything to prevent squeel bear in mind all wipers do this if dry screen..should always replace. Bet you had problems getting vaseline off?

Forgot to mention. CRL glass cleaner removes any type of dirt on glass..and is not expensive 624g tin is only about £2 from glaziers shop. One can usualy lasts me a year or more..Will even remove vaseline no prob

I've found the standard type Champion blades cures any squeaking/juddering.
What annoys me with these late model Clios, is that the top couple of inches of the windscreen on the drivers side, has too much of a curvature for the blade to cope with. More noticeable in winter with the salty road dirt being flung on the screen, leaving streaks in this area.

I have always found Bosch to be very quiet. Europarts do them at very good prices. They do all Renault parts as well.
