Just wondered if anyone could beat the 10 years that the original battery lasted on my Fiat Mirafiori which I scrapped in about 1986.
Pity the floor wasn't made from the same material as the Marelli Battery.

Have changed a few 10-15 year old batteries on mid-late 1980's Mercedes (made by Hoppecke).

The factory fit ones, Lucas at a guess, on Maestro diesels were rarely needing replacement after 8-9 years.Shows what a good & easy starter those engines were!
Crikey - we'll be on the how GOOD is the Maestro post again, if I don't shut up!!
&, of course, if you do need a new one, you'd buy a Unipart with lifetime guarantee. If it ever fails, you REALLY do get another - no catch!!

Funnily enough my mate Gary bought a Blue and White Maestro Van, ex-British Gas, with 'GAS' in big letters on the side.
Made his day for £350.
