Remember me? Used to post some time ago..
Being VERY VERY HAPPY, I just wanted to share my feelings with you and say Hello! Hope you're all well!
HELLAS! EUROPEAN CHAMPION!
Vagelis.
PS: Dear Mods, I know this is very distantly related to motoring, but...
|
Does this mean that all cars now have to be fitted with new blue & white flags?
|
Thoroughly deserved after what has proved a great championship for the Greeks from start to finish.
Someone forgot to tell the Portugal players that the championship didn't belong to them by divine right - they actually had to go out and win the final match through blood, sweat and tears, rather than apparently expect Greece to gracefully stand aside when put under a bit of pressure.

Nonsense... time was when 100w Hellas could be seen on the front of many a fashion-concious rally car...
Seriously, though, MEGALH NIKH! :-o

Get on with it, have your fun. I'll let this run until tomorrow morning. The way Greece played you deserve it.
|
I have to say they put everyone to shame. There was actually a bit of skill shown by Greece - unlike of course the pass as soon as you get the ball even if there's no-one to pass to skill that England demonstrated so many times.
Well Done Greece

I have definitely crossed souvlaki and retsina off my list (not to mention lamb chops for those of us who follow proper sports like rugger....)
|
Only time I ever played rugby the ball bounced funny and the pointy end got me in the eye.
My brother-in-law is Greek and when I sent him a text to congratulate him he text back asking why. He must be the only Greek in the world who didn't even know it was on.
|
I have just returned from Portugal and have to say that as hosts they were magnificent and I thought they deserved to win after the way they beat England, however I will not be crossing Kleftico or Souvlaki off my list of favourite foods.
I have to say the Portugese Espetada ( fillet beef on a skewer ) washed down with a bottle of Monte Velho tinto has contributed to a rigorous diet and fitness regime since returning.
All right Vagelis - Well done Greece.

Thank you all for your contributions!
I (and I guess most Greeks for that matter) have enjoyed this march of Greece to the european championship more than almost anything else in the last years. It was something we really needed.
Thanks Mark(RLBS) for keeping this topic active!
Vagelis.
PS: I may have eaten thousands of souvlakia and the like in my life, some bad, some good, and some extraordinary. I assure you, I will never-ever tire of grabbing a couple of these beasts filled with gyros, tzatziki, etc. (Sorry if I made you hungry - or the opposite ;-)

I know thread is going, but yes I remember you Vagelis, and well done to your nation.
I would imagine most of the English nation were routing for the Greeks on Sunday, so congratulations. You'll remember it for a long time!

And that will do I think.
Congrats again.
