HELP - Temporary Insurance - Adam {P}
Hello all,
as you may have seen from recent posts, my insurance debacle has taken a new turn. I now need to find a company that's going to insure me for 3 months. Simple as.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Adam

You'll probably have to buy 12 months worth, and then cancel it after 3 months.

My insurer (Direct Line) is rather stingy in your first year with them - I think you lose a month's worth of insurance. In subsequent years they refund you pro-rata.

You may find it better to stick with your current insurance company, buy a whole year's worth, and then get a refund. If you cannot afford a whole year's worth, then make monthly payments.

Adski - don't know who your with and haven't read all the other threads but Tesco have done a blinding deal for Mrs V. who's still a learner on a provisional licence. Might be worth asking them. Agree with MM about you probably having to cancel and get a refund pro rata but don't know how Tesco work it out.

I'm with Tesco at the minute which will cost me £1500ish on the 21st. (Not sure if I can say that so apologies if I can't)

I was going to pay it all in one block but what are the penalties likely to be? If it's the only way then fair enough.

Thanks for both of your replies,

Cheers

Adam

By the way, the chances that on the next car, it would not be with Tesco...just thought it worth mentioning

should actually read either

"by the way, the chances that the next car would be with Tesco are low"

or

"Chances are the next car would not be with Tesco"

whoops

Some insurance companies allow you to suspend the insurance and restart it much later and you only loose a day. Regards Peter
