Car supermarkets - spikey

My first time at this so here goes ......

Bought a brand new Renault Scenic from a local car supermarket at good discounted price. Uk spec vehicle which they claim came direct from Renault BUT....

when I ask about the 3 year Renault Assistance breakdown cover that comes with all new Scenics they are claiming this will only apply to cars bought from a main dealer. Help!!

Yup thats right. The third year is a Dealer warranty. When you buy outside the dealer network you only get Manufacturers warranty, which I understand is two years pan europe, and may not include recovery services.

There is a reason the cars are cheap at supermarkets and this is one of them.

Just being nosey as I am looking at Scenics as well - what do you think of it?

How much would it cost to purchase breakdown cover and an extra 1 year warranty? If it saves more than this to buy from a supermarket, then it is still worth it.
