Apparently GM are stopping selling Daewoos in Australia. Reason being that the market is too competitive.

If they can't manage to sell in Australia I would be surprised if they find things less competitive in the UK.

The Australian market is very different to that of the UK, Hyundai, Kia & Proton (the major competition to Daewoo) sell very well & second hand cars keep a lot of their value. Running a brand requires a dealer network, who's going to have a dealership if sales are so low (this is the problem MG-Rover are now having in the UK, they are having to buy the dealerships themselves).
A lot of cars made by Daewoo are being sold under different brands such as Chevy, Suzuki. How long can it be before Vauxhall has a Daewoo model with its badge ?

Ah yes, as Chevy's all American branding in its commercials...
Chevy Aveo (= Daewoo Kalos)
Chevy Malibu (= slightly rehashed Vectra)
