i have a 1.6 zetec auto, 13 months old, this is my first auto and i'm not to sure on how to tell if the unit is 'slipping'and just want to be sure before taking it to the dealers.
when slowing at a give way junction or turning a corner and then applying the throttle again the revs increase before the speed picks up. is this normal for an auto. in every other driving condition it seems fine
thanks

Yep.

However, it depends on how many revs it increases by. If the engine screams away, then no, it's not normal.

How do you rate the Focus Auto mondy man?

only had the focus for a month, but it is a nice ride, it got air con and the full climate pack, heated front screen, mirrors etc. seems as big on the inside as my old mondeo but the 1.6 zetec seems a lot better than the old 1.8 mondeo unit, not as thrashy at higher revs. still finding my way round the auto box and the higher fuel consumption, typical, just bought it as petrol prices took off, but needs must, got bad elbow joints so gear changing was becoming a real chore.

the revs increase by about 500/600 rpm

500/600? that'll be just about right. Sounds ok to me.
