Mystery Solved. When I first went past the things were incomplete. They are now working as solar and wind powered, radar sensed speed warnings, saying'Slow Down', on both approaches to a fairly dangerous bend

How long before, in adition to Slow Down, these blessed things start saying 'Don't Forget to Turn Your Wheel', 'Don't Do Anything Silly' and 'Wouldn't It Be Safer If You Stayed In Bed?'
Welcome to nanny-world...

A bit off topic, but whilst on business in the US a while back, I saw road sings on one of the Interstates that said something like "Warning water on road during rain".

if they have radar-sensors, then presumably they only warn if the driver hasn't slowed enough?
If someone has forgotten to turn the wheel, a warning would be a very good idea, except that it'd probably be too late :(

Perhaps if so many drivers didn't show that they need nannying....

How long before, in adition to Slow Down,
A lot of bends have "Slow Down" warnings when it is not necessary. On the other hand, there a lot of bends that can catch you out if you don't slow down. I generally make my own judgement regardless of whether there is a warning or not.
I wonder what the criteria are for deciding whether any particular bend is given a "Slow Down" warning?
