Berlingo XUD Smoking - Boop
Hi, My Berlingo van fitted with an XUD 1.9 Diesel smokes alot on start and the exhaust is very sooty. Once warm it runs fine. Has anyone similar experiences and what did you do to cure the problem. The engine has done 70,000 miles and recently had a reconditioned head, new gaskets etc. Thanks in anticipation Boop

It could be one of many things.

How does it start from cold? Lumpy at all?

What was the reason for the top end rebuild?

after all the messing about on my car,it turned out to be glowplugs,i changed them all,still smoking ,then found one of the plugs were faulty.thats on a xud turbo d 1905
