police radios - me
heard a rumour that the new police radios being issued cause allsorts of interference - one such example is the breath test machine (nowadays an electric box) often give false readings with the new police radio's nearby...

so if you get knicked for drunk driving make sure you get a proper blood test done...

it would be interesting to run some tests and see if they also interfere with speed entrapment kit...

This was covered ages ago. Try the Search facility.
Re: police radios - Andy
The new police radio system (currently on trial in some areas) uses the TETRA system. I think it stands for Terrestrial Trunked radio. It operates around 400 MHz and is digital so it cannot be eavesdropped.
The radio energy emitted by the sets is pulsed, a bit like digital mobile phones, and apparently the pulsing effect can upset electronic equipment close (very close) by.

Andy.

Doesn't work (404)

The correct link is far too long to post, so just go to
www.bt.com
Then look for a link labelled "Police" and then take it from there.
