i have a vw golf gti 1.8t year 2000.as i am doing the oil & filter change myself.can anybody tell me how to reset the service light.thanks.

The following link is for resetting a Polo, not a Golf. However it worked on a Passat. *Might* be a common VW thing across the range.

if you have the owners hand book it should tell you how to reset it in the book, failing that, if you know anyone in the trade who might have a upto date autodata book, it has a section in the front on how to reset them.

the info in my handbook for VW sharan 99 (v) is the same as the link above so guessing you will be ok following this
