The fuel tank on my Honda CD25U sprang a leak last week. An AA temporary repair with liquid metal enabled me to get it home.
Ideally I would like to find a second hand replacement as a new one is just under £250 and the bike has a few more miles left in it.
Can anyone suggest a source?
Failing that I will have to either try a fibreglass repair or find someone to weld/solder it.

Frosts auto restoration do a petrol tank sealing kit, which effectively creates a liner inside the tank. A couple of friends have used it to good effect.

Thanks for that idea.
My m/cycle dealers do that or similar, may use it after structural repair.

Hi Brian
There used to be a product called Petseal which was good for pinholes or small splits. I used it to good effect a few times on bikes where the tank had sprung a leak.
I suggest a google should tell if its still around.
as always

Got it welded for £30.
Only problem was that we couldn't get the in-tank filter out first, it got melted and that's another £30 to replace. Probably just put in an extra in-line filter for a couple of quid.
Lesson learnt: empty fuel tank completely every couple of years and clean thoroughly inside.
