I don\'t know why you get a kick from it, but you are winding people up for the sake of it. A classic troll.
Change your style or your chosen chat room. I couldn\'t care less which, but you will change one of them. If you remain, then anything you write where you sign yourself off as \"MM\" will be removed - we already have one of those and he writes at a much higher standard than you demonstrate.
I deleted the thread - apologies to those who had written serious replies, myself included.

Mark
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that was getting wound up by this thread.

But did we pass the "no swearing" test?

Thanks for that Mark, thought all the mods had the day off yesterday!
|
Agree - but, as Mark implies, pity (but unavoidable) that some of the more sensible points have been deleted.
|
Mark, don't get me wrong - I thing your intervention was justified, however:
To be fair to Motorway Man, I think some good points were made, especially the high number of caravans parked on the road long term. I knew a lady who had one parked outside her house long term by someone else in the street. Despite her being a Special Constable, there was little she could do about it. It really plunged her house into darkness! The city council eventually forced the owner to remove it.
Also his other posts have shown a tone more in keeping with the quality expected of this forum. I suspect he was having a bad day, which we're all entitled to from time to time :)

No offence meant to Mark or any of the other moderators, they do a terrific job, but whilst I don't agree with much of what Motorwayman said, it did raise an interesting debate, which is what I understood the purpose of the "Discussion" forum to be. Or is it much too serious for the occasional "wind-up" ?
|
The word "caravan" is itself a wind-up.

Kith,
To an extent you are correct; and if the wind up had started and finished with the first note in the thread, then I would probably have left it alone.
However, it continued by putting further notes in and was getting/about to get silly.
So I trashed it.
As, indeed, I shall do to this thread at some point today.

Before you trash it...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it actually illegal to park a caravan on a public highway when it is not physically attached to the towing vehicle bearing the registration mark shown on the caravan?
