My neighbour has just got rid of his 307 after two years of it yo-yoing between his garage and the dealership. Totally fed up with things going wrong including the above problem. He wanted it to burst in to flames like others have done, but this is about the only problem it didn't have!

I knew it made sense to stick with my 306! :o) Having almost got over my ten-year infatuation with 205s, I am pretty sure that Peugeot lost the plot with the 206 and 307. Lots of people are still buying them though.
I find this odometer error strange though. What kind of software fault only happens to a few people some of the time?

I used to drive a Mercedes Sprinter van with a digital odometer that had a similar problem, but instead of over recording the miles it would occasionaly jump a couple of hundred at a time.

They hammered pug pretty hard on that program - but the advice on these boards is generally reasonably positive about them. Is there a bit of half story going on here?

I got rid of my 307 after 18 months of taking it back to various dealers who were unable to cure its knocking suspension.

Creaky suspension, broken indicator stalks, electrics with a mind of their own. At least the odo on mine seems to work!
Climate control is good too but thats as far as the praise goes.

Out of interest where is the 307 built?
Watchdog were almost suggesting that Pug were not too concerned about the over reading as this meant that they could carry out more services. If the figure is 25% over then presumably they do 25% more servicing and make loads more money.
I cannot believe that the computer technicians at a multinational company such as Pug cannot seem to sort out the problem (all they need do is contact Bill Gates ;-)...)
