hi gw,
i had exactly same prob on senator, best way i found to help, although not a complete cure, as i think the fault is in the design of the light pattern and cut-off of the actual light units, was to fit "halfords" laser-blue bulbs. these emit a more white light than the standard orangey-glow ones, don't seem to make much difference to visibility range, but at least you can see clearer within the lit area.

...or try Phillips Vision Plus bulbs at powerbulbs.com - most people see a distinct improvement but it does seem to vary car by car.

This was a common fault reported to Vauxhall by Police Forces when they first went over to Omegas.

Thats why they now have the HID headlights.

The HID is really the only way to go but very expensive.

Your car will have the patterned lenses, these like Mondeo MkI ones go dull/yellow with age. Try and get a pair of used clear lense halogen projector-type ones from ebay or a Vauxhall breakers such as AllVox www.allvox.co.uk/ I think these were fitted after Oct 1997, and some of the Osram Silverstar or Philips Visionplus bulbs you can get from the Powerbulbs someone else posted above. Good luck.
