I was in similar circumstances last year with a huge increase from e-sure due to a claim. Went to Frizzells in the end, or try Liverpool and Victoria (same company) who charged me less than e-sure the year before even following an accident.
You could also try VW's loyalty insurance - its run by Cox Insurance who also run insure.co.uk. I tried them for my Audi but they weren't very competetive.

Have a look at this.

It usually comes up trumps and cuts out loads of slog, filling in different quote forms.

For two years running, elephant.co.uk has been by far the cheapest for me.

The only thing to do is trawl around them all! Ive never been with the same insurance company 2 years running, simply because Ive been able to get a more competitive premium elsewhere.
Ive just changed companies to Belldirect, but different companies will be better for different people. My cheapest premium was £780, the most expensive £1900.... It pays to shop around.
Off the top of my head, try Admiral, tesco, directline, elephant, belldirect, axa, norwichuniondirect, eaglestar, morethan.
