Toyota Aygo X - Poor visibility front camera - Mich52

It's been raining heavy today and, as a new Aygo X owner, today the 'poor visibility front camera' warning light came up. I don't know what it means/do ??. I didn't even know it had a front camera!! What do I do? ??

If you’ve got lane assist/ warning, traffic sign recognition, then you have a camera. Sometimes gets covered in rain, sometime gets misted up inside. Both should pass.

There will probably be at least one forward facing camera near the rear view mirror. If the screen is obstructed the camera will be disabled.

It will be the forward facing camera mounted behind the rear view mirror.

Sometimes when setting off on a journey the screen can mist up in front of the camera, it will soon clear especially if you set the heater to clear the screen.

I know Toyota have added a small additional heater for the forward facing camera on newer models to cure this issue - this has introduced a new issue of the inner layer of the windscreen possibly cracking around the mirror mount.

Toyota will replace the windscreen on affected vehicles FOC for this known issue..

Hi. Do I need to take it back to the showroom? I did my best to clear the mist. It seems to clear better when the A/C is running with the heat on too.

Any modern car needs the ac on to keep the mist off the windows. Also make sure you haven’t selected recirculating air on the climate control panel.

On my, thank you. I think I'm operating it wrongly. My other car was 18 years old so I know nothing about the new cars! How will I know if I haven't selected recirculation air?
