I have a problem with my Citroen DS3 HDI Diesel 2016 plate
My engine light has come one, been to the garage for a diagnostic, the ad blue has a leak
He’s cleared the engine light, was fine, then came back on again
He did say if it came back on, to go back and he will put the car on the ramp and check underneath, he said it could be a possible blockage ?
Has anybody else had any problems, or any idea what it could be ? And is it costly to be repaired
It loses a little power every one and then, but it’s still running fine
Hope someone can help me

Difficult to guess without inspection underneath. The adblue tank is at the rear of the car , and pipes run along the chassis to the engine bay . However, one of the most common failures , is a leaking adblue injector , which is located at the front , on the exhaust system.

It seems a bit bizarre that the mechanic would just clear codes and not do any other investigation.

Not really, many are incompetent or unable to fix faults with adblue and dpf systems. Or they’re too scared to tell the customer it needs a whole new adblue tank.

My local garage can repair it, but they didn’t want to put a new injector on, if that wasn’t the problem, which will then cause me more money, the diagnostic machine they use, isn’t as in depth as Citroens would be
I can’t get booked in till the 11th July, but will keep you posted on what happens and the cost etc

Thanks for your response, my garage seem to think it’s the ad blue injector, but wants me to get a full diagnosis from Citroen, there’s more in-depth and will pin point the problem, I’ve never owned a car that uses ad blue
I spoke with the mechanics at Citroen dealership, they said 80% of the time, it’s the injector
