Veyr quick question, is changing a headlamp bulb in a 97 Vectra an easy job? Or is it worth paying Halfords to do?
Thanks

Yup, pretty straight forward although the offside will be easier than the nearside as there\'s a long thin relay box immediatly behind the nearside headlamp in the gap between the headlamp and battery, the relay box is held in a plastic clip and can be hinged upwards to access the headlamp rear. B&Q warehouses seem to be selling GE OEM quality bulbs for £6 - 7 each for H7 at the moment, I thought that was quite a good deal for reasonable quality bulbs, the normal cheap stuff is rubbish, check out Auto express\'s bulb test to see how bad some bulbs are, even from brands you\'d think would be OK!

Blue,
As DL says, \"Pictures say a thousand words.....\"

The spring clip can be a bit fiddly to release, as you have to push it in slightly, then to one side, rather than squeezing it together and pulling outward.
With regard to prices, I recently paid £6.99 for a H7 bulb from my local motorist centre, the exact same bulb (made by Ring) can be obtained from Wilkinsons (Wilko\'s) for £3.50.

Thanks very much people, the car now has two working headlights and two working sidelights, which is definately an improvement! :-)
