Hi
my 2003 vectra radio unit suffers from servere interference on MW.
I have narrowed this down to the speedometer as when standing still it is fine, as soon as speedo moves the noise starts, i comfirmed this while going downhill i turned engine off and noise was still there. It increases with car speed.

In all seriousness, why worry? It's a new car, so it's a warranty issue. Let the dealer fix it and let us know what caused it.

Could be a bad earth on the aerial mounting under the rear headlining, the aerial is held to the car with a nut with a serrated captive washer, it might not be tight enough. This job is a fiddle, at least it was on the previous Vectra, get the dealer to do it under warranty and then inspect the headlining carefully afterwards to make sure they haven't damaged it!

Could be static created by the car moving, the radio will have a speed signal feed, for the speed variable volume, so even an internal fault within the radio may cause the interference.

I'd go down the warranty route - that's what it's there for!

Agreed - it's most probably an aerial earthing fault.

this is very common on all vectras and its caused by as you say speed sensor which turns radio up as road speed/noise goes up no cure for this fault but vaux dealers have been told to cut sensor feed wire to radio so you can except this as a fix or ask for a proper fix
look in radio manual for which button to hold for speed sensor setting and turn on/off/up/down to see if things improve

Could a surpressor not be fitted in the sensor feed power line? Just like in the old days when you had to put one across the coil to stop the HT interfering with AM/LW.
