i have a 1994 2.5 v6 cd omega. is it possable to have cruise control added to it from another omega ???? & if so is it easy to do ???

On later ones than yours the switch was moved from the left of the radio to the row above the radio, and all you need do is buy the switch, pull out the blanking panel and push the switch in...job done for £22.
I would assume the older ones are the same, but the switch more complicated? Do you have a coinholder on the left of the radio?

i need the complete set up. wot switch do you mean ?? i now i neen the indicator stawk with the two buttons on it & the cable that go's on to the throtle housing & the box thing that is bolted to the o/s inner wing.

I'm confused now....surely the cruise control switch is on the left hand indicator stalk, not the dash. The Omega is not 'drive by wire' and so the cruise control system has a servo unit plus cable connected to the throttle cable etc. etc. Not a trivial conversion IMHO.

I think the later Omega's had fly by wire. On the Vectra with fly by wire it's a doddle to add. Disconnect battery, replace the indicator stalk with the relevant cruise controls on it, add a switch to the cluth pedal (unless it's an auto - in which case no need to), reconnect battery and the ECU detects the new indicator stalk and turns on the CC electronics.

OK that makes sense : I assume the facelift 2.2 Omega and 2.2 Vectras are the same engine(?). Unfortunately the OP has a '94 model like mine; so I think the CC is basically the same contraption as fitted to my old Carlton.

having just looked at the haynes manual. it states that there are 4 components these are : actuator cable, actuator/control unit, steering column switch & clutch pedal switch. i dont need the clutch switch as its a auto. but will the wiring be there for the control unit & steering switch ????? thanks for all the replys so fare.....

Sorry, I was thinking of traction control! d'oh!
For CC, mechanical on pre 1998 petrol models.....the actuator/control unit assembly is located on the right strut tower, input from the brake pedal sensor and transmission position sensor are provided to the control unit. IThe harness appears to be incorporated into the standard one.
The control unit must be programmed to the model/designation of car upon installation.
