Focus 2008 mk2.5 - Steering - diz79

Ive sorned my car and had it off the road for about 5 months, ive ocassionally started and checked everything is OK. But in the last month I noticed when I tunred the wheel left or righ a little or full lock, the car makes a der der der der noise both ways. Could this be down to the fluid drying up? Seems odd would be on both sides and it wasnt that long ago I had a new drive shaft fitted on one side. Anyone have any ideas?

Fluid doesn’t dry up , but the level in the reservoir may be low .

Did no-one ever teach you to not turn the steering when stationary? You need to drive a car without power steering.
