Leoness's Mk iv golf has suffered from that familiar and well documented problem of leaking washer fluid from the rear washer. This soaked the boot lining and on further investigation the joint further up the supply hose had also separated dying the head-cloth blue.
I made good the fault and managed to remove the blue stains from the upholstry and head cloth.
I thought leaving a small fan heater on a low setting inside the boot with the back seats down would do the job by way of drying out the damp areas. Taking great care to keep the heater away from the back seats and panels I switched on and left it running in the garage.
It did the job, but it has also melted the plastic things that the rear seat belts plug into. Leoness carrys back seat passengers to work every day so I need to get this sorted pronto.
Anyone any ideas on the cost of replacement parts???

Oh dear, hindsight is a wonderful thing of course and naturally I would never have done such a thing :-) I recently had to get some spares for my Audi and did a search on the internet to find an online agnet for a number of breakers. having entered the details of my requirements got a text message within an hour at a very acceptable, next day service too. I think they also do VWs too so you could try www.partgateway.co.uk . Of course this a safety critical part so not worth saving a few pounds if you risk somebody's wellbeing, however this is probably a simple buckle on a stalk that bolts on and off.
Good luck, MGs

Didnt realise this was a well known problem. When I had my Mk IV same leak happened and would constantly set off the alarm. Had I known it was a design fault I would have argued for a free repair. god knows how much I ended up paying for it.
