Changing plugs on New Beetle 1.6 (same as Golf etc 1.6) - what\'s the best plugs ? Copper ones fitted from new \'went off\' well before due date of 40k - more like 25K or so - platinum/iridium/Yttrium presumably better ? Is the make of plug critical (as in build-quality) - so are NGK/Denso/Bosch best bet ?

The Golf/Beetle 40K plug interval applies only to Platinum plugs, not copper ones. VW's platinum spark plugs are made by NGK and cost around £40-45 for four.
