Nissan Juke - Is this something to be concerned about - B3030
So I have a 17 plate and I noticed a couple of smallish wet patches so I looked underneath and this bar underneath the car at the bottom is quite rusty and is wet. The other side of the bar I couldn’t fully see but could touch is very damp and slimy and I noticed some droplets forming and dropping,. Is this something I should be worried about and get checked. I have only had the car 2 months and it’s already been back to the garage I got it from 4 times for various things that have gone wrong such as exhaust falling to bits due to extreme corrosion. I just got the car back today and need to contact them regarding other faults so was wondering if this is something worth mentioning

It's most likely condensate from the air conditioning and nothing to worry about, but it's very hard to tell without seeing it. Does the liquid have any colour or odour?

I hope that's not brake fluid leaking from the corroded fittings. Have you checked the level in the reservoir?

Seems to be a lot of rust and corrosion for a car only 6 years old. What part of the country did it originally come from?
Nissan Juke - Is this something to be concerned about - B3030
How would I know if it is a leak or if they are just low ?

Any comments on the MoT history ? Most testers like to comment on any serious corrosion they find.

That I’m not really sure , I know the car was originally bought in aberdeen

Easy to check online (Gov/DVLA website) - in fact you should have done that before buying .... :-(

In fact, what does the latest MoT test report ?

We would still like to hear the MoT history, but that seems unlikely now ?

Yes it is

That is undoubtedly brake fluid, and it needs fixing now before you drive it again! The LH pipe has already been replaced by the looks of it, it might just be residual fluid, or the pipe might not be tight, but it might not. I would insist that the garage comes and picks it up and fixes it.

Have someone apply the brake pedal, then shine a torch in that area in the pics to see if any fluid drips

Quite honestly with all the problems you have encountered and the rust that is shown in the photos etc I think I would be taking it back to the dealers and rejecting the car. As has already been mentioned there is far too much rust for a car of that age.
I have a car which is 18 years old which has nothing like that. A few spots yes but the amount in the photos is unacceptable.
If the garage refuse threaten with small claims court. I strongly believe you would win your case.

I used to live in Aberdeen where this Juke was first registered and in the 70’s and 80’s serious rust was typical in cars of this age. I had a six year old Morris 1100 with such bad rust that it no structural sills left and had several large holes through the floor. This should not apply so much to modern cars but it might be a factor.
Have you also checked its approximate build date. Seat belt labels and plastic components such as ashtrays will have a date stamp. With just in time assembly processes this will give you a true year of build. You might find a long gap before being registered. It could have been stored in the open but you can’t prove this. It may not add legal weight to any rejection as cars are advertised as the year of registration, not build. However it only takes a couple of minutes to check and it might throw up a discrepancy you can use to persuade the dealer to concede your case.

I don't think you can sensibly compare the rusting of a Morris 1100 with 21st-century cars. The 1100 I owned in Canada from 1964 to 1967 lasted well for two years in Edmonton, where the roads were not salted as the winters were far too cold. After one winter in Ottawa, which used salt, the tinworm was well under way when I sold the car before returning to the UK the following autumn. :-(
