Whatever the EU decides is up to them, until we rejoin (as the losers wish and plot for) then the decision for our country is for our parliament to make.
I suspect much depends on what happens in the run up to the next GE and the repercussions from the results when they are known.
Currently there's only one view held by those likely to be elected, ie the uniparty, and that is agenda 2030 here we come, if (unlikely) a viable alternative political movement establishes itself which clearly states serious opposition to the wide ranging self destruction of the country including such things as the banning of pure ICE cars, and, if that movement receives widespread support, more importantly still a decent voter base where its stands for election, then a change of minds for politial reasons could be on the cards.
It will only be the political survival of the regime that will force a change i think, common sense and duty of care for the people of the country having long since deserted the minds of our political classes, the electorate have had decades to remove said class but have consistently shied away from doing so and, like the lunatic, insist on repeating the same electoral experiment whilst continuing to expect a different result.
The bigger worry is whether it will be our govts decision at all to make by the time 2030 rolls around, increasingly the pointers are that health matters are to be turned over fully to the unelected WHO, absolute climate authority may well be handed over to them too.
