By far and away the biggest reason for this is unavailability of parts. I have no idea whether Brexit has had an effect or not but I very much doubt it is the major reason.

Indeed. Which has everything to do with the pandemic response (which the remain-supporting Labour party and others wanted to go much harder which would've made even worse, as shown by what has happened in China).
The closure of Swindon and Ellesmere Port car production has also had an impact.
Which, as the manufacturers admitted, had nowt to do with Brexit.
German production was only 3.2 million in 2022 compared to 4.7 million in 2019.
Presumbly according to Terry and Skidpan this is down to Brexit. Rather holed their 'arguments' below the water line and terminally.
Note to them and others arguing about Brexit and car facility closures this was done to death in a thread a year or two ago as I recall.
