Sadly the company banking on the EV manufacturing take up in the UK goes into administration.

So what does this say about the UK s future for EV manufacturing.

So disappointing to learn BMW plan to cease production of the electric Mini in the UK and transfer manufacturing to China.

But surely Nissan , Moke and hopefully Toyota will need this essential component ?

May be their business model has already gone out of date with battery tech moving we are told very quickly. Which is another reason that a lot of potential buyers will just wait and see. There is plenty of time for new car buyers to buy one or even two with proven track record before the dreaded 2030

Nissan have an attached (Chinese) battery factory.Toyota have said if hybrids are banned they will close Derby.

We will end up with a very curtailed car industry.

What car industry? There's virtually no British-owned car industry left, just a few tiny specialist manufacturers. Not even Morgan is British-owned any more!

Nissan, Toyota, Jaguar, Land Rover, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin, McLaren and more...just because they are not British owned does not mean they are not very important to have them in the UK for the ammount of workers they employ as well as all the suppliers that they use in the UK
