C5x - Churchill Insurance refuse to insure Citroen C5x - Speedbird 747

I have recently taken out an insurance policy with Churchill Insurance.

I wanted to transfer my insurance onto my new car, a Citroen C5x. I ‘phoned Churchill as I was unable to make the change online.

Unfortunately Churchill do not have the Citroen C5x on their database, and the operator has told me they cannot insure my new car and the existing policy will have to be cancelled. I will not have to pay a cancellation fee, but I will be charged for the current policy pro-rata.

MoneySupermarket.com does not have the C5x listed either.

Try a specialist broker and ask Citroen customer services.

I had to laugh at the term 'top policy' being used there...I presume you mean 'cheap premium'?

Exactly the same thing happened to me with our Fiat 500e. QMH decided the Fiat was some kind of mystery machine, made from unobtanium so they decided to cancel my policy. Ironically I ended up at Churchill.

The RAC were the most expensive - over £800!

Hastings platinum policy is £490

IIRC the big boys insurance-wise are only interested in the middle of the main stream.

I don't recall any occaision they were willing to quote on any of my vehicles.

So your car passes the de facto coolness test.
