VW Passat Problem - MEP
I have a 1999 1.8T Passat and I've been having a problem.
When driving up a modest incline, with the engine around 3000rpm, I start loosing a bit of power. If I put my foot down the car will accelerate but not smoothly. I'm pretty sure it's not the turbo, to me it feels like the HT leads and sparks need replacing. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar problems

Probably the coil packs. Join the club - and the wait.

Bit early for the coil pack problem, suspect as you do leads and plugs
Only get the leads/ends from VW but the plugs I'd recommend NGK BKUR7ET.

Simplicate and add lightness!!

Take it to a dealer and have it checked. There are a number of components associated with the turbo and fuel system which could be causing the problem.
