I recently had the misfortune to suffer a snapped camshaft drive belt which of course bent the valves. The garage I use had the head repaired and refitted it. Everything seems ok apart from noisy tappets, worse when cold, but still audible when hot. Went back to the garage but was told they couldn't do anything about it and it would probably settle down!
I've changed the oil to 10w-40 but this has not made any difference. The engine is a 2 litre D-Tech DOHC which I think was manufactured by GM Holden. Have read recent correspondance on a Vauxhall Omega which had the same symptons, but it turned out that it was a broken exhaust manifold stud.
Any ideas?
