New to me. i.ve just bought a secondhand wheel and had it fitted with tyre ,so i don.t have to rely on space saver spare. . Ignoring the sensor, derrr. Will i have to visit main dealer , to sort out the warning light

If you want the tpms system to work with this wheel, then it’s going to need a tpms sensor fitted to it and programmed. Not necessarily by a main dealer . Where are you keeping the wheel ?

i was keeping it in boot . but now i have 2new tyres and two nearly new all michelin. . i drive locally so i was thinking of leaving it at home and calling wife if ever i needed it. .

This has been dealt with in the Yaris section of the Toyota owners club: www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/forum/49-yaris-yar.../

I believe there's a button at the bottom of the dashboard, as described in the online owner's manual.

If you have 5 wheels on the car with tpms sensors , then the system is going to get confused . I’ll think you’ll find the system can only deal with 4 wheels . The space saver isn’t fitted with a sensor .

If you only do local journeys, then why do you feel the need to have two spares in the car? I've a Yaris, do much more than local journeys and feel the space saver to be adequate.

At costco yesterday, the lad told me this one hasn't got a reset button, its done on a bluetooth device.. . googled it today, now i have found the reset button.

i need the car for driving tests, so would need a full size wheel. however with the light showing it would be no good.

i bought a scrap wheel to match [ it gets a bashing sometimes]

the space saver wheel is so much lighter, something i never gave much thought to.

wanting to keep the weight done to save mpg

I understand the scenario now . As I see it , you can’t use a space saver for a test . You can’t use a full size spare as that will bring the tpms warning on . Basically you’re doomed . I think dvsa need to move into the real world .

Don't understand "As I see it , you can’t use a space saver for a test " but I am an expatriate unfamiliar with your current local customs.

car has to be safe to drive at full speed, or at least above space saver speed

Can't you just have the full size spare witout the tpms fitted? Then the car will have 4 sensors and will be happy.
