Hi,
I’m having a problem with an intermittent battery light on a 2011 Ford Fiesta. 66,000 miles on the clock.
First happened shortly after I bought it last summer. Came on when motorway driving but went off after restarting the engine. Then in the winter it came back on and shortly after broke down (Lost ABS, Power Steering, Lights). Garage said it was the alternator so replaced with a brand new one, said the battery was fine.
However, since then the battery light has kept coming on and off, but seems to be getting more regular.
Any Ideas?
Thanks I’m advance.

This uses a smart charge alternator system where charging voltages can reach nearly 16volts under certain conditions, so it’s important to have the correct battery type . Also , I would check the battery terminals and connections , especially the negative terminal which has a smart sensor incorporated. Check the 2 pin plug attached to it .
