Ford mondeo estate 2005 - Mondeo estate humming noise from front wheel - Bazzaboy2006

I humming noise coming from the front left wheel. I have changed the bearing and put a new ball joint and linkage in but still getting the noise. Any suggestions please would be appreciated

Possibly the tyre itself. I had what I was convinced was a failed rear wheel bearing on my old Focus but it turned out to be the tyre. Try putting the spare on to see if it goes away.

Sounds like it is the tyre is cupped or scalloped ( same cause different name)

The tread blocks will look uneven from front to back, one edge will look lower or higher than the other edge.

Extreme example here:-

As said by xileno, I experienced the same with a previous Audi, but thankfully arrived at the correct diagnosis (reverberation from worn/damaged wire bracing mesh within tyre) before needless replacement of bearing treatment.
