Toyota Yaris 1.0 2002 - Misfiring - Paul80

My Toyota started sounding funny and engine shaking, I plugged in an OBD scanned which showed codes p0301 cylinder 1 misfiring as well as p0303 (cylinder 3).

After I cleared the codes, it would shut down the engine straight after starting, but today I revved it a bit and it managed to run on idle for a bit, still sounding funny.

This is accompanied by strong smell of petrol.

At this stage I am reluctant to pay to get it fixed due to agem but in case it's something obvious or cheap, I may still do it. Any ideas?

Also, this may not be related, but I've been driving for a while with a hole/leak in exhaust manifold and engine light on indicating an oxygen sensor slow response.

Any advice appreciated.

The smell of petrol is probably due too the o2 sensor and the hole in the manifold. The car is running rich. Its probably fouling the spark plugs which is causing a misfire. Ideally you want too get a new o2 sensor, fix the exhaust leak and then put some new spark plugs in. That should sort it.
