Honda Jazz - Is it wear & tear or the garage had done a bad job - hunterex

Hi. My car is Honda Jazz Automatic 2010 year model.

Back in July 2019, the car passed the MOT at Honda garage with advisory saying:

Repair as soon as possible (minor defects):

Nearside Front Upper Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated (5.3.4 (b) (i))

I immediately sent it to another independent garage (the cost is cheaper than Honda garage) to fix it and paid the total cost of £108

Today the car just passed MOT with the same advisory as below:

Repair as soon as possible (minor defects):

Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover severely deteriorated Split (5.3.4 (b) (i))

I was shocked to see this.

Why the car had the same problem so fast in 2 years?

Is it wear & tear?

Or the independent garage that I had been to had done a bad job?

Please advise whether should I change to a different independent garage to fix Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage ball joint dust cover.

Thanks

The car has one on each side, hence offside and nearside. You have had one changed, the other side now needs doing.

On suspension it is generally worth doing both sides at the same time.

It was the near side first then the offside? Unless I am missing something I can’t see what your issue is.

Not really sure what your point is?.

2019 it needed the nearside one done, 2 years later it needs the offside one done. What is the problem?.

Also, why get the MOT done at the dealer, but the actual work done at an indy?, can the indy not do MOT's?
