Thinking of getting electric car. Not sure if what I want exists or not.
Track days and Autobahns in a £40k electric car with a 300 mile range and 140+mph top speed?, er no, it doesn't exist.
An electric car with a 300 mile range is going to have a big battery, which is going to be very heavy. This, along with how doing a track day will affect the range (catastrophically), how all that weight is going to affect the tyres on a track day (catastrophically) means an EV, at the moment, is entirely unsuitable for a track day. A lap or two round a track?, fair enough, but a track day?, no.
And the Autobahn. Well, if you were to consider something like a Golf 1.5TSI (150bhp). At 70mph in average conditions, it will probably be doing around 50mpg. At its 140mph top speed, that figure is going to be 15mpg, possibly less, certainly no higher than 20. It has an 11 gallon fuel tank, so at that speed, it will be empty in 165 miles, rather than the 550 miles at 70mph, which is a 70% drop in range. Same applies to EV's, the drop in range travelling at 140mph rather than 70mph is going to be absolutely huge, and because of the charging time needed for the extra stop or stops, you won't save time by doing 140mph, you'll lose it, or to be more accurate, waste it.
This is the reason so many electric cars, sensibly, have a speed limiter.
