hello im in two minds,
ive got the chance of a 2.0 dti vectra estate this time next year for 2-3000 of a relative

there a few things that puts me off......

one is the 20000 mile oil changes, it will have done 100000 appx by then. surely that doesnt do a car any good. i know vauxhall will tell you otherwise but come on..

another thing is what do you reckon it will be worth its a 51 plate estate be worth in a year

also the get absolutely slated on here. things like the computer reliability trim falling off etc
ive got one and never had aproblem with it
in anyway am i lucky should i buy it or run away as fast as i can??????

Well, as a previous thread contribution of mine will say (haven't got time to search for it now), my brother and I ran Vx Vectras and Astras for years, incuding four Vectra Estates (he two 1.8 LSs and me a V6 Sri and a V6 GSi), until we (yes, both!) switched to Volvos this year.

Problems?
Nope.
Couppla niggles (nothing more) years ago, but that's it.
Reliable bits of kit, which is why we went back for more, again and again.

Of course plenty of people will tell you otherwise, but just as they will say that they speak as they find, I always speak as I find, too.

Not sure from your post if you currently run a Vectra Estate or not, but in case not, it is very well designed, with excellent attention to detail when you start to look. Some very nice, and clever, touches.

noi have 1.8ls 5dr with 53k on an "n"
this is my worry theres nowt up with it si iwould be getting a car with double mileage and looooong service intervals

Don't listen to me. Just do a search on this website to see the amount of aggro Vectra 2.0 DTi problems there are with dealers next to useless in trying to work out what the problems are with huge bills for nothing!. They are a pandoras box, best left closed. Run away.

The 2.0 dti has had significant 'issues' with oil consumption : see the C-B-C on this site: not sure if it's actaully sorted or not. For more info do search for '2.0 dti' over on the Google group 'free.uk.cars.vauxhall' : there area couple of VX deals who post useful info.

I'd try and make sure the 20k oil changes have used proper fully synth oil as specified; other than that seems like a reasonable deal to me
