1.6 life 2006 - zafira 2006- change clutch problem - marksal

I have change the clutch and slave cylinder.

When I go to bleed the clutch hydraulics, i open the bleed nipple, it come out clean no air, I close the nipple.

BUT...

The clutch peddle is loose and it has no strength??

Do I need to force more fluid through the pipes with a pressure vessel, loads and loads of it?

Any other reson?

OR .. have I done the slave instillation wrong? which would be a nightmare?

Any help would be great, thank you

I've only done clutch slave cylinder on a Morris Marina when dinosaurs (though not many Morris Marina's) roamed the earth. Can't remember having a problem, but memory is hazy.

I'd suggest getting an enema syringe and cycling fluid through the system. Since you can both suck and blow, and can generate quite a lot of pressure, this is effective at clearing bubbles, doesn't use a lot of fluid, and is MUCH cheaper than the commercial pressure and vacuum bleeding systems ,

I have only used this on a (nonABS) brake system , so there could be unknown gotchas with a clutch, though I can't think of any.
